This Totally depends upon the characteristics of the FUEL (Biomass) which needs to be fired in the boiler.

If the biomass is high on alkali's and have low Ash fusion temperature (which tends to form ash lumps ) Pulsating grate is better solution. otherwise Travelling grate is a best solution for normal Biomass fuels like Baggasse, wood chips etc
