You mean 'underwater' (one word) You can only dive into water. But I guess you want 'scuba-diver' ? or is your question this: What do you call someone who does 'snorkelling' ?
Of course you take it out! I don't, but I DO thaw it out in a pan, to collect the water and juices for easier disposal.
Unless you are snorkelling near the surface, breathing through a tube, or breathing from a tank of compressed air, you can't biologically breath water - unless you suddenly grew fish gills.
Resistance equipment is not necessary for water aerobics but it can be very beneficial. You can you balls and barbells as equipment for water aerobics.

It is definitely easier yo float in salt water.
Soil of course. Soil is more natural, and easier to use. However growing plants with water (Hydroponics) allows you to feed the vegetables specific nutrients, and in exact amounts. So if you know exactly what makes giant tomatoes, you can give whatever it is too them without loss, do too soil drainage. However this usually takes a lot more equipment to accomplish.
Water skiing is generally "easier", but it is just what you prefer.
