It is difficult to say which is the easiest to learn. While the Flute requires one to use their mouth and the air they blow to hit the right notes, the Clarinet uses a reed, which can be difficult to learn how to use properrly, and it still requires the proper air to make the notes.

Both require learning the proper finger positions for each note, so they are equal on that level.

While some believe it takes much longer to learn the flute, it actually takes about the same amount of time to learn either instrument. Learning either one depends on the person and how much effort they are prepared to put into learning the instrument. Also, one may be easier than the other for a particular individual.

It really depends on which you're better at using, like if you have short breath, do the violin, or if you get tired easily tilting your neck, do the clarinet. Whatever condition you think is better, follow it. :) :D

To learn to play reasonably well? The clarinet, no question. The violin is not terribly hard to learn to play - it is one of the hardest instruments to learn to play well.

Frankly, when you add up the pluses and minuses, the instruments are about equally difficult - or not - to play. The flute is less fiddly, but has a more difficult embouchure. The clarinet is the opposite. Fingering is about equal.

Arguable but I say clarinet is harder to start on because of the way you have to blow - but once you can blow they are more or less equal apart from the clarinet difficulty in the octave key.

Most octave keys take you up an octave as the name suggests but o the clarinet it TAKES YOU UP A 12TH!! Annoying and difficult.

I say Clarinet!

The flute is waay harder! You have to use your mouth and how you blow airr into instrument! For clarinet, all you have to do is press one extra key and boom you are playing upper register!
