### Find the pair of numbers with a sum of 5 and a product of 6?

There may be a formula for solving this sort of problem, but I
think it might be best to use trial and error.
Start by listing the factors of the product, and then see if the
addition of any pair of those give the sum.
The factors of 6 are 1, 2, 3 and 6
Of those, only 2 and 3 sum to 5. (1 and 6 sum to 5 in the 1 is
negative, but then the product would also be negative, and we were
given a positive product.)
So the answer is 2 and 3

### Capacitors in series plus 4uf plus 6uf?

Capacitors in series: (1/Total) = 1/A + 1/B 1/Total = (B + A) /
AB Total = AB/(A+B) = (Product)/(Sum), if only two
capacitors in series. We have 4uf and 6 uf. Product =
(4 x 6) x 10-12 = 2.4 x 10-11 Sum = (4 + 6) x 10-6 = 1 x 10-5
Product/sum = (2.4 x 10-11) / (1 x 10-5) = 2.4 x 10-6 = 2.4
uf ======================================== Easier:
Total = product/sum = (4 x 6) / (4 + 6) = 24/10 = 2.4
uf
