There are lots of great image (and video) editors available for the iPhone. For basic adjustments try Picoli, compile panoramic images with Pano or change focus with Tiltshift. There are also apps to share your edited images on popular social networks like Flickr and Twitter.
To me the best one is Photoshop CS5, it's a paid program but I like it really much. I edited a bunch of photos with it and using it is not that difficult as it may seem first. One will probably need to watch a couple of tutorials and it will be way easier to use Photoshop.
Good luck!
Photoshop still holds the highest place. However the down side is that its now very expensive and can only be purchsed legaly via their cloud system. Gimp can be used and is free, however, it depends on the complexity of edit required.

In my opinion, it would have to be the Apple App, Aperture, depending on your App Store country Aperture can be very pricy but if you want powerful photo editing, Aperture is the App to get.

There is an inbuilt editing tool which allows you to edit the length of the video but for the best editing you would need to download iMovie from the app store and use that to edit and add stuff to your videos.
Just download it.
