Spotlight, it's the "magnifying glass" looking icon in the most upper right part of the Apple desktop menu. Just hover the mouse pointer over the results and it will expand into the full path of where the file is. Or just open any folder and in the upper right part of the window will be a search bar.
Snow Leopard probably has a feature that lets you use English.

Go to the apple icon in the upper left hand corner of your desktop... Select "About this Mac" if the software version is 10.6 or later, you have snow leopard.

p.s. to clarify: i have snow leopard on my laptop, but only 10.4 on desktop. it costs to upgarde desktop to 10.5 or later, so i wondered if i could transfer from laptop to desktop?
If you want to know how big a newborn snow leopard is, I suggest you Google it or search it up on Wikipedia, and it will tell you. I'm guessing they are very small, cute and furry though!
