Mainly for every program to be created these are the fundamental steps to be noted by every one
They are....
1. Analysis of the problem given by the user:
In this the problem given is discussed and understanding the problem by revising it carefully and assess the needs of the users.
2. Specification and design of the problem:
i.The problem given to the programmer is accessed and define a format and type the data to the program.
ii.The design of the screen the user will use
iii. defining the kind of data entered to the program and required data to be displayed by the program
iv. Drawing the alogorithm, flow charts to caluclate outputs for the given inputs by the user.
3. Writing an program:
A program is written to the problem given by the user and writing the code necessary to fullfill all the requirements of the problem. The code is a text based file which when complied creates the program.
4. Finding of errors:
Errors in programming are of three types they are
i. Syntactical errors
ii. Logical errors
iii. Run time errors
detection of these errors from the program and eliminating them
5.Testing of Program:
Testing of an program is done in two steps
i. Alpha test:
Here the program is checked initially by the programmer.
ii. Beta test:
Here the officials who are having a knowledge in programming will test the program and find out if there are any errors in it.
6. Documentation of the program:
The Documentation of the program that describes how it will works and how to run it. If there are any errors after the delivery of the program then it can be eradicated by updating the version by removing the errors
The first step is always to look for an off-the-shelf solution. Developing software is very expensive in terms of time and money, and any programmer who considers the most cost-effective solutions before committing to costly development will never be short of work.
Having ruled out the ready-made solutions, the next step is to look for solutions that can be adapted to suit, such as open-source solutions.
Once those are ruled out the developer can commit himself to actual development, the first step of which is to design the solution, which generally takes up around 80% of the development cycle. The remaining 80% is spent debugging the design. :-)
The first step of computer programming is requirements gathering. A developer should know what the client(s) are looking for, precisely, before ever writing a line of code. The next step will depend on the programming philosophy that is followed, but this usually entails a design document that outlines the functions of the software and how they interact with each other. This may be a flow chart, a simple description of each part, or even pseudo-code that outlines particular algorithms.

Generally, the first step in learning to program is to understand the process of editing code, compiling the software and running the subsequent program.
C Program Development lifecycle!C Program Development CycleA C program typically passes through four steps of development. The solid lines show inputs into each step of the development cycle. Compile and Linkage Editor operations are performed by the C for AIX product, which also lets you specify what optional outputs are produced. Optional outputs are shown in the diagram by the broken lines. Descriptions of the steps follow below:Design and CodeInvolves designing a program to meet a specified requirement, and creating the programming language text files that will comprise the program source.CompileAfter checking for syntactical correctness, converts the programming language source files into machine readable instructions, where C variables are associated with memory addresses, and C statements are turned into a series of machine language instructions. The compiler can produces various forms of output, depending on the compiler options selected.Linkage EditorLinks compiler output with external modules requested by the compiled program. C programs can use routines from C libraries or any object or archive file from the IBM XL family of languages. C programs can also use modules produced by the current or previous compilations. As well as linking the external modules, the linkage editor resolves addresses within the object module.Run and TestThis stage can be both the final step in program development, or it can be an intermediate point in the program design and implementation process. A program's design commonly is further refined as a result of information gathered during testing.
Java byte code.
it is a step by step program written in simple English for our understanding
SDLC is software development life cycle and system analysis & design is one of the step in the cycle. Other steps being: 1. Requirement analysis 2. System analysis & design 3. Coding 4. Testing 5. Installation & maintenance
the 7th step maintain the program/system
Can you discuss the step in program development?

Evaporation is the step which is observed. It s the first step of water cycle.
The first step to the billing cycle is generating charges. They are then submitted to the customer for payment which is then processed and the process repeats itself.
