Australia's deadliest creature is the Box Jellyfish, a deadly invertebrate which inhabits the tropical and sub-tropical waters off Australia.
Stings of some species of the class Cubozoa and the Box jellyfish, such as the famous and especially toxic Irukandji jellyfish, can be deadly. The sea wasp, a box jellyfish found in Australian waters, can kill an adult human within a few minutes.
Box jellyfish is actually a group of many species of jellyfish. Some are highly poisonous, others have a much weaker poison. The deadliest varieties can easily kill a human, while others may cause nothing more then itching for a few minutes. As for killing its predators, there are certain fish that have evolved defenses to the poisonous sting of box jellyfish making it so they can attack and eat the jellyfish without danger of being killed.
