A) The Bible just says they were "wise men".
B) Their names are not given.
So, we cannot say who gave him gold beyond the general "the wise men".
We don't even now how many they were, that is not given in the bible either.
Tradition says they were three, and that their names were Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar, but there is no evidence to support this.
The fact that there were three gifts led people to suppose there were three givers - but if several gave gold then there could have been any number of them. All we know for definite is that they were wise, that there was more than one, that they came from the East and that they gave gold, frankincense and myrrh.
