The song Kurt Cobain and his band Nirvana are most known for is "Smells Like Teen Spirit" off of the album "Nevermind" .
Nirvana was the first with their hit 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. I can't think of the name of the other but it's the band who recorded 'Jeremy'. That's odd because I actually liked that band Pearl Jam performed the song 'Jeremy'.
Teen Spirit was a brand of deodorant that was very popular in the U.S. in the 1980s - 1990s. The brand might even still be around; I'm not sure.Anyway, as the song is about teenage culture -- and culture in general -- in America, I suppose it seemed fitting to name the song after a brand of deodorant that most teenagers in America used at the time. It's a play on words, basically. "Teen Spirit" as in, the zietgiest of 1990s American teenagers, as well as "Teen Spirit," as in, the deodorant.
Answer (1) *Smells Like Teen Spirit Answer (2) *Smells Like Teen Spirit, although it's quite different from their other songs and...to be honest, a lot of their other songs were better (Example(s)- Heart Shaped Box, Come as you Are, Lake of Fire, Polly, All Apologies, About a Girl, etc.) 3) "Lake of fire" was covered by Nirvana but was written by a band out of Arizona called Meat Puppets. The original can be heard on the album titled Meat Puppets II. Nirvana had the members of Meat Puppets as guests during their appearance on MTV Unplugged. Meat Puppets also had a moderate hit around that time titled "Backwater".
Nirvana did not have any number one hits on the charts, but Smells Like Teen Spirit peaked at number 11 and remained on the charts for 16 weeks.

Oh, dude, before Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" hit number one on the Billboard charts, it was Michael Jackson's "Black or White" that was reigning supreme. Like, MJ was the king of pop, you know? So, Nirvana had some big shoes to fill when they came in with their grunge anthem.
It doesn't seem like there exists or existed a mainstream band by the name "Hit the Floor." As such it is difficult to find out how long this band has existed.
The biggest selling music video from the 1990's was Britney Spears' smash hit, "Baby One More Time." The second place winner was Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
