Concentration camps were camps that the Jews were sent to during the time of the Holocaust. There were four major concentration camps. Most were killed there in torturous ways, forced into physical labor, or forced into sexual slavery. Not only Jews were sent there though also gypsies, homosexuals, just about anyone who was not a Nazi.
During the Holocaust, Jews were captured and sent to death and concentration camps. At the death camps, Jews were killed. By shooting, Strangling, Poisen gas(Gas Chamber), and Burning alive. There are many words to describe the holocaust. Some words are: Horrible- Jews were murdered. One after the other. Killing- Nazis killed Jews. The Nazis said that they enjoyed killing. Death- Almost all of the Jews died. There was a lot of death having to to in the holocaust. Concentration Camps- Many of the Jews died in concentration camps. Jews were tortured.

Actually many Jews escaped the concentration camps,but it was very difficult to escape because they didn't have any where to go. Some people who were non Jews helped Jews hide when they escaped, but it was dangerous for them to hide anyone who escaped because they could get killed if they were caught.
The whole Holocaust started in 1933 and after came into power and a very small amount of Jews were killed between 1933 and 1934. However main part of the Holocaust started in 1940 after main concentration camps were set up after the Occupation of Poland. Between 1940 and 1941, about 100,000 Jews were killed due to Nazi Control and not by natural causes unless trapped in the Concentration Camps.
The figure of six million is for the overall Jewish death toll in the Holocaust, not for the number of Jews who were killed in concentration and extermination camps.
