Teh varying pressure of the air (the sound) causes a varying electric potential in microphones. There are various techniques, one is called "dynamic microphone" whereby a membrane with a coil is allowed to move inside a magnetic field. The sound moves the membrane, the movement of the coil inside the magnetic field generates a current in the wire which is the signal. No There is not much a difference you can draw between a Sensor & a transducer, as both does the same thing of measuring an energy in form & converting it to other form. But a transducer will make an additional effort to convert the energy into measurable electrical form & then then transmitting!!!! Pls coment

we can convert sound waves to electric waves and by giving supply we can generate sounds to Piezo electric crystals or ceramics. The process of converting sound waves to electric waves with the help of peizo electric crystals is called peizo electric effect
