The state farthest west in the United States is Alaska.
The states in order from farthest south to farthest north are Alabama, Missouri, Michigan, and Wyoming. Alabama is located in the southeastern U.S. and has the southernmost latitude. Missouri is to the north of Alabama, followed by Michigan, which is further north, and Wyoming, the northernmost of the four states.
South is Florida. North is Lake of the Woods Minnesota.
In the United States Maine is the farthest state north on the main land. Alaska is the farthest state north in North America.
Michigan is farthest north.
Alaska is the farthest state west in North American United States. If Hawaii is to be included, it could also be the most western state depending on where your start and end point.
Alaska. And, interestingly enough, Alaska is also farthest EAST, since some of the outlying Aleutian Islands are actually on the other side of the 180th meridian, or International Date Line, from the rest of North America.
