They are called as motor neurons. They are same like sensory neurons. Only difference the direction of the nerve impulse. The nerve impulse travel from dendrites to body to axon to axon terminals.

How many types of neurons?

There are three types of neurons. 1.Sensory neurons: which carry impulses from the sense organs to the brain and spinal cord. 2.Motor neurons : which perform an opposite function to that of sensory neurons by carrying impulses from the brain and spinal cord to muscles and glands. 3. Inter neurons : which connect sensory and motor neurons and carry impulses between them.

What are the different types of nerves cells or neurons differentiate the types based on function?

There are 3 different types of neurons , 1 : sensory for conduction of impulses to CNS , 2 : Inter neuron for integration and 3 : motor for conduction of impulses from CNS to body .

What are Neurons that conduct impulses to the cardiac muscles?

Motor neurons are the neurons that conduct impulses from the central nervous system to cardiac muscle, smooth muscle, and glandular epithelial tissue. These types of nerves are what make up the Autonomic nervous system, which regulates the bodies involuntary functions.

Which of the following cell types insulates neurons in the PNS?

What The two types of cells of the nervous system are?

Neurons or the nerve cells are the basic unit of nervous system. Based on their function (as in whether they transmit impulse from the CNS or to the CNS) neurons are classified as sensory neurons (carry impulses to the CNS), motor neurons (carry impulses from the CNS to the target organ) and mixed neurons which perform both the functions. The neurons can also be classified based on the number of associated axons or even presence or absences of axons.

What are two major types of cells that form nervous tissue?

First is the neuroglia, function is to support and protect the cells of the nervous system. Second is neurons, which are responsible for conducting nerve impulses from one part of the body to another.

Which of the following types of glial cells monitor the health of neurons and can transform into a special type of macrophage to protect endangered neurons?

Microglia

What circuit types is exemplified by impulses that travel from a single neuron of the brain and activate a hundred or more motor neurons in the spinal cord?

Diverging circuits

What gives a multipolar neuron its name?

Neurons (or nerve cells) come in three structural types, depending on how many fibres they have: Multipolar neurons have many fibres attached to the cell body. One fibre, the axon, is longer than the others and carries the electrical impulses away from the cell body. The other fibres, called dendrites, are shorter and carry impulses to the cell body. Bipolar neurons have two fibres attached to the cell body, one denfrite and one axon. Unipolar neurons have a single fibre attached to the cell body which then branches into two.
