Any living organism that needs foilage / water that the desert can not produce / have, that has adapted for environment / biosfeer that has plenty of both. Not a good answer but then this is not a good question either ok? :)

Of couse, animals can grow in the desert. They would not be able to survive and reproduce if they did not grow.

No, it would not be able to survive in that environment on its own. Some tropical houseplants can survive in a different climate if their owners take care of them correctly, but it wouldn't be able to just live if planted outside.
