solid beam have more deflection
when the load is applied in the beam then deflection takes place. the nature of the deflection depends on the support provided on it
Because the load taking capacity of hollow shaft is more as the load per unit area is lesser due to the lesser cross sectional area.
If you can solve the beam reactions by the equations of equilibrium, then it is statically deterrminate. If not, that is, more unknown reactions than the equations of equilibrium, then it is indeterminate, and you need to know something about its deformation to solve the reactions.
Energy. The atoms in solid steel are moving more slowly than the atoms in liquid steel.
Depending on the context, they usually are referring to the same thing. In some cases, people refer to air dry solid film lubricants as dry film lubricants. For more information check link.
when the load is applied in the beam then deflection takes place. the nature of the deflection depends on the support provided on it
because the deflection in simple suported beam is more due to the orestriction at the ends as the ends are freely supported by twoo supports
they are hollow to be more aerodynamic
As you bring the source of light closer to the deflector the energy of the loss of energy from the light waves decreases. So the light waves strikes the deflector with greater energy. So more energy is needed to deflect them. Hence the deflection decreases.
It depends on the type of beam, the material, whether it is a bridge span or cantilever, the allowable deflection and safety margin needed. We need a lot more data on the application.
as in solid rod there has more free electrons which will cause more current than a hollow metal tube of same dia/length/material.
Hollow members are more efficient than solid with equal area
The solid ball, will have more mass in comparison to the hollow ball of the same radius. Since, momentum of an object is the product of its mass and velocity, the solid object will have more momentum. Therefore, the force required to stop the solid ball will be much greater than the force required to stop the hollow ball (since, the hollow ball will have less momentum because of its less mass). That's why its difficult to catch a a solid ball as compared to a hollow ball of equal radius.skhatti
Depends on the frequency. The higher the frequency the more the current has a tendency to stick to the surface. But for the most common frequencies cross-section area is more important for conductivity than solid or hollow.
their bones are hollow to make them lighter, and more legible for flight. if they had solid bones they wouldn't be able to fly as fast, high or as maneuverable as they are now. Hope this helped! (:

You are correct! The tile will sound hollow when the thin set isn't hardened. When the thin set hardens the tile should sound much more solid.
