yes if you dont remove the positive terminal off the battery before unistalling the starter or installing it the lead going to the starter will be hot.

Install opposite, attach the positive cable lead, then the negative.

same as in any other vehicle,... make sure to remove any jewelry and watches first,... always remove the negative lead first,... that way if you do hit any metal with your wrench on the positive lead it wont ground out and complete the circuit giving you quite a jolt,... after negative lead is off, remove positive lead, there will most likely be a bolt holding the battery to the tray, loosen it enough to slip the battery out,... then reverse the process installing the new battery, hook up the positive cable first, then the negative,... tighten hold down bolt,... BAM,... your done
