The North Bridge
north bridge
The north bridge connects via the front side bus.
"845G" is a chipset, not a processor. The chipset is actually a part of the motherboard, and should be advertised in it's specs.
The fast end of the hub, called the North bridge, contains the graphic and memory controller, and connects directly to the processor by way of 64- bit bus, called the Front Side Bus (FSB), System Bus or host bus.

Which two activities are normally controlled by the Northbridge part of the chipset? (Choose two.)
RAM=Random Access Memory, used for fast swapping of data on computer Processor= a small chip on the motherboard performing millions+calculations a second. your computer uses ram all the time to keep background apps open, and to basically run everything. your computer uses your processor when you do graphic intensive or calculation intensive things, such as gaming, video converting, multiple things at once, like running Photoshop, a video encoder, your internet browser, and watching a movie. now if you want to know which to upgrade, it depends on the current status of your computer, and your aim of the upgrade.
The motherboard is a circuit board that the chipset plugs into or is soldered into. Along with hundreds of other components on a motherboard, it is the part that actually does the computing in a computer.
