Snakes appear to have evolved during the Cretaceous which lasted 135 - 65 Million years ago
135 million years later, Pangaea had already split into two supercontinents: Laurasia in the north and Gondwana in the south. This breakup eventually led to the formation of the modern continents we see today.

North America has been moving northward from Africa for the last 200 to 130 million years ago.
Approximately 135 million years ago, during the Early Cretaceous period, significant geological and biological developments occurred. This era saw the continued breakup of the supercontinent Pangaea, leading to the formation of new oceans and coastlines. Dinosaurs were the dominant terrestrial vertebrates, and the first flowering plants (angiosperms) began to emerge, marking a crucial evolution in plant life. Additionally, various marine reptiles and ammonites thrived in the oceans during this time.
