Extrasolar planets have been discovered with much shorter years; I can think of several that have 3-day "years". They're obviously orbiting very close to their parent star and are therefore very hot.
The planet Mercury has the shortest year , from the planets as it is nearest to the sun.
Venus * mercury takes 88 days to revolve around the sun * venus takes 225 earth days
The planet that takes the least amount of time to make an orbit of the sun is mercury, the closest planet. It takes only 88 days to make one orbit so has a 'year' of 88 days.
Mercury has the shorter year because it is closer to the sun and therefore needs less time to take one full orbit around the sun than the Earth does.
The Planet Mercury has the shortest year. A year on Mercury takes only 88 Earth days.
Of those four, Mars has the longest year.
Mercury
(The year is proportional to the distance to the power 1.5) In our solar system, Mercury has the shortest year. Neptune has the longest.
Yes. The grater the distance, the longer an object takes to orbit.
saturn
The real "planet" with the longest year is Neptune It takes 165 Earth Years. Mercury has the shortest year. It is closest to the Sun and therefore the Suns gravity acts upon it with more strength
Mercury
Mercury has the shortest year, lasting 88 Earth days.
(The year is proportional to the distance to the power 1.5) In our solar system, Mercury has the shortest year. Neptune has the longest.
Mercury. Mercury takes 88 days to go around the sun, so its `year` is 88 solar days.
What inner planet has the shortest year
No known object in the solar system circles the sun every 9 days. The body with the shortest known orbital period is the planet Mercury, with a 'year' of 88 earth days.
Yes. The grater the distance, the longer an object takes to orbit.
saturn
MercuryIn this solar system, that would be Mercury at about 88 Earth days. There have been planets discovered around other stars which blaze around their suns in a matter of hours instead of days.
Anything out of our solar system.
The furthest planet in our solar system from the sun is Sedna. It would take about 10,500 to 12,000 year to get there!
Mercury has the shortest year. It's year is about 88 Earth days.
