Ulysses Grant probably came the closest to being a potato farmer. He did grow some potatoes as a cash crop on his farm near St. Louis. The plantation owners. Washington,Jefferson,Madison,Monroe,Jackson and Taylor likely grew potatoes and sweet potatoes for their own use and maybe have had some to sell. John Adams also had a farm and likely grew some potatoes.
