There is no definitive region of US States that fall into the category of Midwestern, however, with that said, there is a consensus among many North American geographers concerning this question. With a good degree of accuracy, it may be said that States that are located west of the Mississippi River and stretching over to the Rocky Mountains are midwestern States.
