Not necessarily, usually because of contradictory teachings. For example in The Bible it is said that when we die our souls go immediately to heaven (assuming you were a good person) but he Bible also says that on the Last Day our bodies will rise from the earth. Some Christian groups believe in one side and others believe in the other. The Catholic Church maintains that the soul rises to heaven where it is shapeless and on the Last Day we are given new bodies to live in in the Kingdom of Heaven.
