The five beliefs of Islam are: Belief that God is One. Belief that Muhammad, Jesus, and others were prophets of God. Five of these prophets are given the distinction of messenger because God gave them codified books of prophecy: Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, and Muhammad. Usually belief in these books of revelation is counted as a separate belief, so the total is six. Belief in the angels, pure beings who do not have free will, but exist to execute God's commands. Belief in the Day of Judgment. Belief in fate: that most aspects of life are preordained.
