In my opinion and not in order of importance the role of a student is to keep a teacher/instructor alert and on his or her toes. Academically, socially and legally.
Yes, a student is obligated to report unethical, immoral behaviors and the school should have the ability and obligation to terminate such teachers and professors. The more difficult part is that it is more difficult to define right/wrong-ethical vs. unethical behaviors.
To keep the college or school in business.
To make other students engaged and enjoy learning for the sake of learning.
Each student should be on a fairly equal mental level for the subject they are learning /discussing at that time. For example math, reading, composition, and comparative religion. They do not need to be the same age or same IQ, but understand the subject; not only for their own sake but for fellow students' sake. I'm not talking about a learning disability nor any type of disability for that matter.
Each student also needs to care for the safety of the classroom. Another example was in years past, just out in public, a person gave a seat to a frail person or pregnant woman. Common Courtesy is dead!
The role of the young student is to learn more about others and themselves. Now will the parents lets this happen is the important question.
My last comment is how the student/school relationship is the place where politeness is taught and practiced in society even if forced at times. Many times children aren't taught etiquette at home or at school. Then the rules are lost. Look at taking off hats. Even older men wear hats in restaurants.
Finally, to graduate and help future students and schools by doing more than the minimum that is legally required. Not only should you pay taxes and repay any loans, but you should also give time and money back.

The duplicity of man, or the tendency to be deceitful or two-faced, can lead to distrust and conflict in society and relationships. When people are not honest or genuine, it can erode trust and create barriers to meaningful connections. This can ultimately impact the way society functions and how relationships develop and thrive.
