The places associated with Lord Buddha are Lumbini, Namobuddha. Besides, these there are two more Buddhist stupas in Kathmandu valley at Swoyambhunath and Bouddhanath. Emperor Ashoka had also built four stupas at Patan and one in Chabhil.
There are several Tibetan monasteries around Kathmandu valley. Thengboche Monastery is the highest altitude monastery in Nepal.

Perhaps Nepal's most important and well-known feature is that it is the location of the famous Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. The largest Shiva temple in the world, the Pashupatinath temple can also be found in Nepal, a site that holds great significance to the Hindu faith. Nepal is also the home to a Buddhist site of pilgrimage called Lumbini, which is said to be the birth place Siddhartha Gupta, the founder of Buddhism.
