It's one of those questions that is impossible too answer. They both ate highly respected and highly trained. Both have there roles in the USSOCOM community. Green Berets have been known to train foreign armies and Special Forces units. SEALs are masters at ship boarding. Green Berets are as mentioned great at trainning foreign units. They can both so DA's(Direct Action) and do them professionally. So to answer you're question, it's impossible to say.
Special Forces wear Green Berets Rangers wear Tan Berets Airborne wears Maroon Berets Rest of the Army wears Black Berets. But they don't really mean anything.
The US have Delta Force, Rangers and Green Berets.
Special Forces (Green Berets)
The United States Army has several elite forces. The Army Special Forces are sometimes referred to as "Green Berets." There are also Army Rangers, and Airborne units. For many years, these were the only army units that wore berets.
The Marines are Marines. The Army has Army Special Forces AKA Green Berets.

Kennedy sent in the Green Berets (Special Forces).
In the year 1961, President Kennedy authorized the wear of the green beret for Special Forces soldiers. At the event that this happened, President Kennedy delivered a speech whereby he made the green beret a "mark of distinction in the trying times ahead." The Green Berets became a very real distinction of excellence among special forces at that very moment.
No. The Green Berets are a special forces unit, who recruits form all branches of the military and even accepts civilian volunteers.
The last of the US GROUND TROOPS were pulled out. Conventional forces only, NOT the advisors, Special Forces (Green Berets), etc.
They are the only official US Army Special Forces unit; they are called SF men for short. Any other such men or units are also categorized as "special operations units" but that is simply a catch all phrase to avoid using a lot of confusing terms. "Special forces" is used generically in other countries, but in the US, it specifically means only the Green Berets. Now, the best Green Berets are asked to try out for Delta Force, with only the top 0.1% making it in. Delta is a "special operations" unit, not "Special Forces," but they are more elite.
If you want it you should enlist. I know some forces (the rangers) are trained at Fort Benning, GA. The Green Berets are trained at Ft. Bragg, NC.
