The second geologic era is the Mesozoic Age. This would have been 248 million to 65 million years ago. Mesozoic means "middle life". This time would have been when dinosaurs roamed the earth during the Cretaceous period. Periods during this era included both the Jurrassic as well as the Triassic periods.
