The name Carrera was inspired by the Porsche Carrera models which took their name from the Carrera Panamericana road race
There is no such car as the 1995 Porsche Boxster. The Boxster was introduced mid-year 1996 with all models sold as 1997 models. The only Porsches available in 1995 were 911s.
it depends on what generation it is, on 964, 993 and 996 models, there is little evidence externally other than a 'carrera 4' badge opposed to the simple 'carrera' badge on the carrera 2. Some 964 cars were fitted with a widebody on the carrera 4, but this is a rare option. on the latest 997 variety, the carrera 4 has a wider rear stance, (44mm) over the standard carrera and carrera s. This wider rear shell also features on the turbo, gt2, and gt3 rs(the standard gt3 has the slim shell.)
Becuase there were different car companys putting out different models
The Carrera has coupe (hardtop) and cabriolet (convertible, fabric roof) trims. A Targa is a semi-convertible: older models had a removable roof section. Recent models (starting from the 993, in 1996) have glass roofs with the body of the Cabriolets, instead of the latter's fabric.
