There is a website that lists the men by STATE. That will break the list down into less than 3,000 men per state; research can begin there. CA lost 5,573 men; NY lost 4,121 men; TX lost 3,415; PA lost 3,144; and OH lost 3,096 men. All other states should have lost 3,000 or less men.
In the US Civil War, since the North lost more men than the South did, and New York had the most men...probably New York lost the most men.
