Finally, you can take a bus or a taxi to Linden Boulevard, as it is not directly accessible by subway.

To get to the Hayden Planetarium from Penn Station, take the A, C, or E subway line from 34th Street-Penn Station. Transfer at 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal to the 1 subway line, then travel uptown to 79th Street. From there, it's a short walk to the American Museum of Natural History, where the Hayden Planetarium is located.

Taking the LIRR to Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn and then transferring to the subway can be a convenient option, depending on your starting point. From Atlantic Avenue, you can take the A or C subway lines to get closer to 55 Water Street in Manhattan. However, if you're already in Manhattan or near a subway line that goes directly to your destination, it may be easier to take the subway without the LIRR transfer. Consider your location and the overall travel time to determine the best route.

If you take the PATH, take the train to Grove Street for the train to 33rd Street, and either walk or take the bus or subway to 42nd Street. If you choose to stay on the PATH train, go to the World Trade Center station for the 2 or 3 trains to 42nd Street.

You can take the Van Gilder (or Van Guilder) bus. There are RTA busses that go into Crystal Lake but the logistics are nearly impossible. Take the CTA blue line subway to Chicago. You can get off in the Loop and walk to the Olglsbe Transportation Center, which is the Union Pacific heavy surface line (Metra station). Take the UP Northwest Line to Crystal Lake. In theory you can also take the Blue Line subway to Jefferson Park and take the same Metra train there but this would be difficult for someone without experience in the area.
