The Exxon Valdez
Oil spills happen when people make mistakes or are careless and cause an oil tanker to leak oil into the ocean. There are a few more ways an oil spill can occur. Equipment breaking down may cause an oil spill. If the equipment breaks down, the tanker may get stuck on shallow land. When they start to drive the tanker again, they can put a hole in the tanker causing it to leak oil.
The Exxon Valdez is a tanker that ran aground in Prince William Sound, Alaska in 1989. The accident caused the spill of hundreds of thousands of barrel of crude oil. The accident is in no way related to the 1964 earthquake.
The tanker ran out of oil.
point source pollution
It could spill out of a tanker (Exxon Valdez), it could be from a wrecked oil derrick (BP Gulf Oil Spill).
The Mega Borg tanker spilled oil into the Gulf of Mexico in 1990.
making sure there isnt alot of oil in the tank
where an oil tanker collides with another ship at sea... i think
I don't believe that ANY industries were wiped out due to the spill from the oil tanker Exxon Valdez. Perhaps someone from Alaska might be better equipped to answer your question. It was certainly messy and required a lot of clean-up but it mainly occurred near shore and in a harbor area.
Gross negligence, among other things.
This is a simple problem. Just take 34,700,000 and divide by 4 to get the answer, 8,675,000 gallons.
it was smaller
