A substance called plaque can build up on the inner walls of the artery causing blockage that does not allow blood to flow through easily. Plaque consists of a variety of substances, including calcium, fat, cholesterol and cellular waste.
When fat builds up in the arteries it hardens into what is called plaque. Cholesterol is a way the amount of fat is measured in the blood stream. When plaque builds up in the arteries, it restricts the amount of blood that flows throw the arteries. When blood flow is restricted it lowers the oxygen in the blood that vital organs are needing, this causes strokes and heart attacks due to the lack of oxygen the brain and heart are receiving.
"Atreosclerosis".
The fatty deposits of cholesterol within the artery wall are known as atherosclerotic plaque or atheromatous plaque. It is divided into three different components -
1) The atheroma, the nodular accumulation of soft, flaky, yellowish material, composed primarily of spent macrophages nearest the lumen of the artery
2) Underlying areas of cholesterol crystals
3) Calcification at the outer base of older/more advanced lesions.
The 'atheroma', as it is also known, which is comprised of cells (mainly macrophage cells), cell debris, lipids (cholesterol and fatty acids), calcium and a variable amount of fibrous connective tissue.
If/when one of these plaques ruptures, to due structural collapse, it causes a clot in the artery, leading to a heart attack, cardiac arrest, or stroke.
The deposition of fatty on the walls of arteries causes the decrease in diameter of the arteries lumen(arteriosis) and the condition the increase in blood pressure passing through the arteries hence can led to bursting blood capillaries and finally death of an organism.
Fatty deposits in arteries are often known as plaque.
The term which describes a fatty plaque build up within an artery is arteriosclerosis. This is dangerous as it may eventually obstruct the blood flow in the body.
Atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis
i love you faria
well, it means that Atherosclerosis is a condition in which fatty material collects along the walls of arteries. This fatty material thickens, hardens (forms calcium deposits), and may eventually block the arteries. there are treatments.Angioplasty and stent placement - peripheral arteries. then there dieting and cutting fatty foods out . and walking about 30-mins 3 times a day . dr.p
coronary artery disease is a build-up of fatty matter and debris on the walls of the arteries.
No, an atheroma is an abnormal fatty deposit in an artery.
Atheroma is the deposition of hard yellow plaque in the inner most layers of the arteries which maybe due to high level of fatty and fibres deposition in the blood
Atherosclerosis
cholesterol
Atherosclerosis is the condition in which fatty deposits collect on the walls of the arteries. These deposits may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke.
Atherosclerosis
Atherosclerosis
Arteries maybe clogged by fatty deposits on their walls causing the condition known as Atherosclerosis.
atherosclerosis
Such deposits are called atheromas. They mainly consist of calcified fat (cholesterol and fatty acids) and tissue. The build up of atheromas within the arterial walls is a sign of artheriosclerosis, a cardiovascular disease that causes the stiffening of arteries.
They are body enhancement drugs like steroids.
