The US system is defined as a 'Presidential system' as opposed to the 'Parliamentary system'. In a Presidential system like that of the USA, France and several South American countries, the President has large executive and often military powers, and he can influence the working of his Parliament / Congress by vetoing laws, and of his Judiciary by appointing the Supreme Court judges. It is a system that can work well in a democratic system like the US, but it can also easily lead (as it has done in most South American systems at some point) to Presidents assuming dictatorial powers. In a Parliamentary system like the UK, Germany and most other European countries the Parliament is the highest power in the land; it can send away any Secretaries of State it doesn't like or trust, including the Prime Minister, and the head of State (President or King) in a Parliamentary system has mostly ceremonial tasks.

Answer 1The term describing the state of Israel as the Jewish Republic of Asia is inaccurate. The state of Israel as we know it today is also not a republic. The form of its government is called a parliamentary democracy.Answer 2The term "Jewish Republic of Asia" is not a commonly used term to describe Israel. Contrary to the view of Answer 1, a parliamentary democracy is a type of representative republic, making the moniker, "Jewish Republic of Asia" factually correct even though it is rarely used (It is a republic that is founded for the Jewish people on the continent of Asia). More often, people describe Israel as the "Jewish State".
In strict political terms the sentence is a self-contradiction as a "Democracy" and a "Republic" are strict opposites. The sentence however attempts to describe a political philosophy, of: A nation of laws built on strict rights; whose representatives (in/of law) are elected by a popular vote.
