Whichever one won't exceed the tongue weight and towing capacity of the Explorer, and serves the purpose you want it to. I don't see how you expect us to know what trailer you need, especially as we have no way of knowing what it's for... you might want an enclosed trailer, open deck trailer, etc.
Absolutely! Buy a BrenderUp. I have a BrenderUp horse trailer and pull it with my small 98 ford Explorer w/out a tour package. Hardly know the trailer is behind me.

You can buy a trailer wiring kit that plugs directly into your Explorer taillight harness. It has everything you need, including directions, so that you don't need to be concerned about what to splice into. Check with any RV dealer or places where boats and trailers are sold.
