Neither. All electromagnetic radiation (light) travels at a constant speed through whatever medium it encounters. Light in a vacuum, for instance, is about 186,282 miles per second; whereas in a fiber optic cable it chugs along at only 115,000 miles per second.*
What distinguishes ultraviolet from infrared is the amount of energy associated with it, reflected in its frequency. Assuming that a particular cable is transparent to both forms of radiation (which may or may not actually be the case, as another name for infrared radiation is heat) it is likely that the ultraviolet energy would travel farther before its signal would need to be reboosted.
*The speed of light through a medium is proportional to its index of refraction. The index of refraction of fiber optic cable is about 1.62; this means that light travels through it only about 60% as fast as it does through outer space.
infrared light travel faster as it has longer wave than red light and ultraviolet has shorter than blue or violet light.
Neither is inherently faster. They travel at the same speed as long as they are moving through the same medium.
The speed of light is constant. Ultraviolet light has shorter wavelengths, higher frequencies and greater energy than infrared light, but they both propagate at the same speed.
As long as they're both traveling through the same substance ... such as air, water,
glass, jello, optical fiber, scotch whiskey, or vacuum ... their speeds are identical.
In most media, all colors of light, as well as all other forms of
electromagnetic radiation, travel at the same speed.
They both travel at the speed of light, as do all electromagnetic waves.

They both travel at the same speed, the speed of light
-- Microwave ARE radio waves.-- All electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed, including radio, microwaves, heat, infrared radiation, light, ultraviolet radiation, X-rays, gamma rays, and allthe others.
Light travels faster than sound ... about 875,000 times faster. Nothing travels faster than light.
In a vacuum, they both travel the exact same speed, the speed of light. IIRC that's about 3x108 meters per second.
Light travels at approximately 3x108m/s whilst sound travels only at 343m/s. So which do you think is the faster one?

All light travels at the same speed
neither, both travel at the same speed: c
neither... they both are electromagnetic waves and therefore travel at the same speed... but ultraviolet waves have a higher frequency and also have more energy than radio waves
light travels faster in vacuum.
A Worm travels faster than a Snail.
That would be a very difficult "why" to explain, because it doesn't. All light travels at the same speed in the same medium. In vacuum, it's the speed we call "The Speed of Light". Shockingly, it's the same as the speed of radio, TV, radiant heat, X-rays, gamma rays, WiFi, and microwaves.

Depending on what speed your infrared port is. It is normally faster to use a fire-wire port.
