The first political debate to be recorded was in ancient Greece. Socrates, the father of philosophy, was arguing that he should be made president of Greece because of his natural intelligence and his policy of tho and rho, a complex judiciary procedure. Cleopatra was on the other side, arguing that her Egyptian birth did not prevent her from becoming president and also that pho and rho was "a pile of ox dung." Strong words were exchanged that day but they ended up having an affair later that year.
