Europe is not separate from Russia as part of Russia is in Europe. Two mountain ranges are credited as borders between Europe and Asia, however; they are the Ural Mountains and the Caucus Mountains. The Ural Mountains are the mountains that separate European Russia from Asian Russia.
The only body of water that makes any separation between the two is the Black Sea and the Bosporus.

There are two mountain ranges dividing Europe and Asia: The Ural Mountains divided Russia and Kazakhstan, ultimately the continents of Europe and Asia. The Caucasus Mountains divide Georgia and Azerbaijan, ultimately the continents of Europe and Asia. Armenia, another Caucasus State that doesn't touch the Caucasus, is a geo-political European country.
