California was the first state on the Pacific coast to be admitted into the union. California was admitted into the Union on September 9, 1850 becoming the 31st state to join the Union. Oregon was admitted into the Union on February 14, 1859 becoming the 33rd state to join the union. Washington was admitted into the Union on November 11, 1889 becoming the 42nd state to join the Union.
