It depends on what you dread most. They were all terrible ... Belzec had the highest death-rate: 434,508 killed (this is the SS's own figure) and only two known survivors. Some have suggested Majdanek as possibly the worst. The commandant, Koch, failed to maintain discipline among the SS guards, and frequently they went on killing sprees inside the camp, killing inmates with clubs and other blunt weapons. Sometimes they also tortured prisoners for fun.
