You back in the direction you want everything to go. If you want your back end (and thus the attached trailer) to turn left, you turn the wheel left.
No. First, if you're making a left turn, you'd be in the right turn lane (if there's more than one turn lane) to give yourself as much space as possible, and you'd want to stay to the high side of that lane in order to prevent the trailer from offtracking into the other turn lane.
Stop the truck, shift into reverse, let off the clutch. Or, if you have an automatic, you just push the button for reverse, then take your foot off the brake. As for maneuvering a trailer, turn the wheel to the left to turn the trailer right and vice versa. If you get a diecast model of a semi truck and trailer and maneuver the trailer while you back it up, it could give you a basic understanding of how it works.
Left sinal not working in trailer hook up ?
There are about 5 fuses for the trailer harness, Trailer Back up,Trailer left turn, Trailer right turn, Trailer Brake, and Trailer hazards. They are located in the underhood fuse box on the Drivers side of your motor. On my 2003 Silverado, the Trailer left/stop and Trailer right/stop fuses are located in the fuse panel just inside the driver's side door. (Not sure about the trailer brake or hazard fuses.....I wasn't having problems with those :). There is one additional fuse for the trailer harness. The 15A fuse for the trailer running lights is located in the fuse panel under the hood, next to the battery. The fuse is labeled "Trailer Park".
If you have a trailer wiring harness it probably has a short in it and is back feeding the circuit when the brakes are applied remove and replace the trailer harness and this should fix the problem.
There are seven color codes for a trailer 7 blade. The right turn wire is green, left turn is yellow, the ground wire is white, the tail/marker is brown, the brake is blue, the battery is red or black, and the back up is purple.
In your fuse panel on the drivers end of the dash ( cover is visible with drivers door open ) the # 7 fuse is a 7.5 amp mini-fuse for the left stop / turn trailer tow connector ( and the # 3 fuse is for the right stop / turn trailer tow connector )
If both your left and right trailer signals blink at the same time there is something wrong with your wiring harness.
Turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction you want the trailer to go
This will vary do to the different lengths of the trailer even some cabs are longer and bigger than others. Also the volume of the turn itself. A right hand turn is more difficult than a left.
If you are hooking up a trailer plug the left turn signal wire is yellow and the right turn signal wire is green.
