You can get free reports from all three major credit bureaus from www.annualcreditreport.com. You can only do this once per year. After that, if you desire another report, you will have to purchase it.

How to Receive a Free Credit Report?

There is no shortage of offers for credit repair and “free” credit reports. In fact, there have been lawsuits against companies that offer free credit reports that are not actually free, but include a membership or purchase of some other credit related product. If you have to pay for anything, the credit report is not free, but there are legitimate and legal ways to get your credit reports from all three credit bureaus that are entirely free. Here are ways to get a real free credit report:Annual Credit Report.com - The Fair Credit Reporting Act requires that each of the three credit bureaus, TransUnion, Experian and Equifax, provide one free credit report from each bureau, every 12 months. You can request your reports from each credit agency, but it is especially handy to just go online to annualcreditreport.com, fill in your information and received access to your reports instantly online. You can also submit credit disputes online as well.Denied Credit- If you have been denied credit, insurance or employment, you can request a free credit report within 60 days. You will need to contact the credit bureau that the creditor used to deny your application. Usually, you will receive a letter letting you know which bureau was used to make the determination.Other Ways to Get a Free Credit ReportIf you are unemployed and plan on looking for work in 60 daysIf you are on WelfareIf your report is wrong because of fraud or identity theftWith these possibilities for free credit reports, there is really no reason to ever pay any fees to receive one. If you have used your one free report from annualcreditreport.com but have been denied credit or are eligible for any of the other ways to get a report, you can still do so. All of these methods work together and if they apply to you, will enable you to receive a free credit report virtually any time you need one.If you do plan on going through an agency or other company that provides credit services, make sure you read the fine print. If you have to sign up for a trial offer to receive the report and plan on canceling the service, mark your calendar and cancel in advance to prevent incurring any unintended charges.

How long does an unpaid credit card stay on my credit score?

It depends on the credit bureau. Experian, for example, removes information after seven years. Equifax removes unpaid items after 10 years. TransUnion is a little more forgiving and will remove an unpaid item after seven years, as long as it's been reported to them as unpaid by the creditor. So it really varies depending on which bureau you're talking about. But generally speaking, an unpaid credit card account will stay on your credit score for anywhere from 3-10 years, depending on the credit bureau and how long the account has been delinquent.

How long can credit card companies put you in bad credit standing?

First of all, it's not really the credit card company putting a consumer in bad credit standing. It's due to the consumer not paying thier bill on time. Information on payment history is on your credit bureau for 6 years.

How do i email a credit bureau?

It really depends on which credit union you are trying to contact. Each major credit has a website. You should be able to go on their website and find a contact us link. The contact us links are usually at the very bottom of the page, or in the site's "about" area.

How can a person get a past delinquent pay off a credit report when it was dismissed because of bankruptcy?

Really, the only way to have it removed is to dispute it with the credit bureau reporting it. The credit bureau will then contact the creditor for verification. If the creditor can't verify the account, it must be removed immediately. If the creditor can verify the account, your choices are limited to disputing it again and/or just waiting for 10 years for the account to come off of your report.

If you applied for additional credit cards because you were advised that to improve your credit you needed at least two new charges can you have a note stating this placed on your credit report?

Generally speaking, you only make notations on credit reports to explain extenuating reason for baad credit or reasons for dispute. The credit bureaus don't really care why you applied for a credit card in the first place.
