The 1994 World Series was canceled when the players went out on

strike for 232 days. It was the eighth work stoppage in baseball

history. The cancellation of the 1994 World Series was the first

since 1904.

The 1904 World Series was canceled because of a dispute between

American League president Ban Johnson, and New York Giants Manager

John J. McGraw, and John T. Brush, the Giants' owner.
