In 1990 the remains of a large meat-eating dinosaur were found near the 4000 meter peak of Mt Kirkpatrick in the Trans Antarctic Mountains. The fossils were excavated in 1991 by Bill Hammer from Augustana Collage in Illinois, USA, and identified as the new theropod dinosaur Crylophosaurus, the frozen-crested lizard.
