You won't come into contact with tobacco if it's a filtered cigarette. Why bother, use a fake one, available from most "joke" shops or just use a cigarette paper and roll it with cotton wool to "look" like a cigarette. Or you could just empty the tobacco out of the cigarette and fill it back up with something else.

Also, when one is sucking on a cigarette, though it is very damaging, they blow out the smoke and also have the filter on the cigarette. By the time smoke gets to another person, they may just inhale it and cough, unknowing that they've just inhaled a lot of secondhand smoke. They also have no filter to protect them.
