The National Security Act of 1947, which was signed into law by President Truman, restructured the intelligence and military agencies within the U.S. government. This was done after World War 2.
The Department of Homeland Security is a US Cabinet Department that coordinates between the various policing agencies in the USA (FBI, ATF, etc.) and the CIA. The National Security Agency is an executive agency that maintains the US Cyberdefense and, increasingly, spying on Internet Activities.
The job of the National Security Adviser is to provide advice and guidance to the President of the United States on matters of national security. This includes strategic planning, intelligence assessments, and coordination with other government agencies involved in national security. The National Security Adviser also helps to formulate and implement national security policies and ensures effective communication between the President and relevant agencies.
The seven functions of the Philippine National Police Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP SOSIA) include the supervision, regulation, inspection, audit, and monitoring of private security agencies, as well as the issuance of licenses and permits to security personnel. They also conduct training and seminar programs for security personnel and investigate complaints and violations within the private security industry.
