Factually incorrect as the question may be, the PCH answer is Marc Antony.
The answer is Augustus. After his assassination in 44 BC, the Senate tried to reestablish the Republic, but its champions, Marcus Junius Brutus (descendant of the founder of the republic) and Gaius Cassius Longinus were defeated by Caesar's lieutenant Mark Antony and Caesar's nephew, Octavian. The years 44-31 mark the struggle for power between Marc Anthony and Octavian (later known as Augustus). Finally, in September 2nd, 31 BC, in the Greek promontory of Actium, the final battle took place in the sea. Octavian was victorious, and became the sole ruler of Rome (and its empire). That date marks the end of the Republic and the beginning of the Principate. Cristina Rizzi Answer found on Wikipedia guys!
Marc Antony was the Roman leader allied with Cleopatra against Octavian. It was an alliance that would soon fall apart.
Marc Antony was a Roman general, politician and triumvir. He engaged in a power struggle with Octavian for supreme control of Rome. He allied himself with Cleopatra a queen of Egypt and their combined forces were defeated by Octavian. Had Antony and Cleopatra won, our western culture would have been vastly different. He is, in the popular mind, only remembered as the lover of Cleopatra and his abilities and good qualities are unfortunately overlooked.
After Julius Caesar's assassination, Cicero and Mark Antony became two leading men in Rome. Cicero was the spokesman of the senate and Mark Antony led the supporters of Caesar. Cicero tried to exploit tensions between Octavian (later he was called Augustus) and Mark Antony and delivered a famous series of denunciations against Antony in which he also praised Octavian. He urged the senate to call Mark Antony an enemy of the state. However, is plan to defeat Antony did not work. Mark Antony and Octavian reconciled and allied formed the alliance of the Second Triumvirate (three-man alliance) with Lepidus. In 43 BC a law gave the Triumvirate a five-year term of supreme political authority, making it a three-man directorate. The Triumvirate began persecuting its rivals. Cicero and his supporters were put on the list of enemies of the state. It was said that Octavian argued for two days against Cicero being added to the list, but Mark Antony wanted him dead. He was the most doggedly pursued man, but many people refused to report seeing him because he was very popular. He was caught at his villa while he was trying to embark on a ship to Greece. He was betrayed by a freedman of his brother. He exposed his neck and throat to the soldiers. He was slayed and his head and hands were cut off and were hanged for display at the forum in Rome. His last words were said to have been, "There is nothing proper about what you are doing, soldier, but do try to kill me properly."
Rome took over Egypt after the civil war between the last two triumvirs, Octavian and Antony. As Egypt was allied with Antony, it fell to Octavian who was the victor.
Because in Shakespeare's play "Julius Ceasar" he is portrayed as an uncritical, passive associate and follower of Octavius. In real life, Lepidus bore the honorific title "Master of the Horse", and allied himself (and fought together with) with Anthony, not with Octavius - the later Emperor Augustus. You might say Shakespeare portrayed Lepidus as the exact opposite of what he was in real life.

Both mark Antony and Octavian were men. They did not marry each other. They became allies. Octavian fought against Mark Antony at the battle of Mutina (in northern italy) in 43 BC and helped to defeat him. Cicero had played the two men against each other and had made Octavian as a senator. Octavian fought for the senate. However the senate gave more rewards to another man, Decimus Brutus, for the defeat of Mark Antony, and tried to give the former the command of the consular legions. As a result Octavian refused to fight Mark Antony any further and demanded to be given the vacant office of consul and that that Mark Antony should be declared no longer an enemy of the state. When the senate refused, he marched on Rome with eight legions. He made himself be selected as consul. Meanwhile, Mark Antony allied with Marcus Aemilius Lepidus, a leading former supporter of Caesar. At this point Octavian decided to join the alliance, which become what historians call the Second triumvirate (a three-man alliance).

The naval battle where Octavian and Agrippa defeated the allied forces of Marc Antony and Cleopatra VII of Egypt was the Battle of Actium (31 BC), off the west coast of Greece. Antony and Cleopatra fled to Egypt. Octavian pursued them. Antony defeated Octavian at the battle of Alexandria in 30 BC. However, more of his soldiers deserted and he was then decisively beaten. Both Antony and Cleopatra committed suicide.
