All sorts of people answer the questions you put in. Many of them have specialized knowledge of various fields, which enables them to answer the more technical questions.

Are these live answers?
Some answers are put up very quickly after a question has been asked. Some questions may not be answered, for hours, days, weeks, months and even years. Some questions are merged into variations of the same question. So there is a mix of answers in terms of when they are done.
Why are the people that answer the questions on this website idiots?
Some people will put stupid answers in deliberately or do some other things with answers, but the vast majority of answers are given by people who know what they are doing, who use the site as it is intended to be in a responsible manner, and so give very good answers to the questions asked. There are also people working to fix or remove the stupid answers and other things that people put in that should not be there. Just as there are irresponsible people in any aspect of life and on the internet, you will get them on WikiAnswers, but they are by far the minority. Most people here that answer questions are sensible, responsible and intelligent people, who put in correct answers.

Are these answers looked at thoroughly?
There are THOUSANDS of questions on WikiAnswers. Those of us who are supervisors do spend some time checking out answers but we do not have time to check them all, along with having to recategorize MANY questions that are put in the wrong categories, and correcting the spelling, grammar, and punctuation of questions. But we do our best.
All you see here is questions where are the answers?
WikiAnswers is a website in progress still, as many questions are asked but a third or less get answered. WikiAnswers thrives on contributors to answer questions and make the site better. These volunteer contributors put hundreds of hours in for WikiAnswers to answer questions to improve the overall quality of the site. If you know the answer to a question, answer it. The answers do not automatically pop up here and appear from thin air - they have to get here some how. This answer misses the point. Or at least many of us cannot find tne answers. Questions that have answers do not show the answers. Why not?

Does answers have correct answers?
While Answers Corporation and their volunteers aim to ensure that all the questions are correct, we have a team of around 800 volunteers and they can not keep up with the millions of questions that are answered. Most of the questions are correct, but some vandals think it is funny to delete, or put false information on answers. These vandals will be blocked from editing questions on the website.
Does WikiAnswers lie?
WikiAnswers itself technically does not lie. However, there are some users that decide to vandalize, spam, or put incorrect/inappropriate answers into questions.
