He sailed with Jason and the Argonauts, saving them from the Sirens.

Eurydice was his wife.

Hades and Persephone would have allowed him the favor of taking his wife, Eurydice from the Underworld, had he not looked back and lost her.

He was favored by the Muses and with his music and singing, he could charm birds, fish and wild beasts, coax the trees and rocks into dance, and even divert the course of rivers.
