Agnostic is the "i don't know" response to religion. They are neither theists nor atheists; they are waiting for proof for one or the either. And in the meantime they tend to feel it is arrogant to believe 100% that there either is a god or isn't a god when no one can possibly know for sure at this point in time.

Many people are agnostic, some were raised that way but most came to that conclusion on their own after being raised with religion.

What do you call one who believes in nothing at all?

An atheist is someone that does not believe in a specific religion, but some of them still believe in the existence of a higher Begin. A person who we call a Agnostic is a person who does not believe in anything at all. The English term "agnostic" comes from the Greek word "agnostos," which means, "to not know." An agnostic is one who admits, "I don't know." People who call themselves Agnostic's, are the people who are not afraid to admit that they do not know for sure that there is no God. They would just rather live in the now and believe in what they experience around them.

What is the agnostic?

There is no "the" agnostic. An agnostic is a person whom does not see enough evidence to prove or disprove God's existence, and they don't really dwell on it.

How can you use 'agnostic' in a sentence?

I can understand an agnostic position, but it seems to me that to be an atheist requires just as much faith as a belief in God. Agnostic is an adjective and a state of mind so it would be used to describe someone. I was going to church thinking about god then i realized that i was agnostic. Another example of using agnostic in a sentence is, "How can you use agnostic in a sentence?" Technically, you already used agnostic in a sentence. Oops, I did it too!

Can you state yourself to be agnostic on a registration form?

Of course, why not. But are you sure that you are an agnostic? For example most deeply religious observant catholics would consider themselves agnostic. Indeed, being an agnostic is an important aspect of being a devout Christian or Jew. So by stating that you are "agnostic" is not saying much.

No one can be agnostic do you agree?

I disagree, being an agnostic myself. I would be interested to hear why you think that nobody can be an agnostic, since you obviously did when you posted this question.
